Vocabulary building is one of the easiest, most effective ways to improve an SAT score. Now you can carry hundreds of need-to-know words with you everywhere you go. Turn 5 minutes into a productive study session--standing in line, riding the bus, during a lunch break, or just hanging out at home.

SAT Vocab Challenge Volumes 1 and 2 take full advantage of the innovative Multi-Touch user interface of Apple handheld devices and includes the following features:

  • 250 of the most commonly tested words on the SAT, as identified by The Princeton Review’s survey of past tests
  • Four distinct types of timed challenges to test you on each word’s positive or negative connotation, synonyms, antonyms, and definition
  • Select answers quickly by swiping the screen or shaking the device
  • Performance is tracked by the app itself, so at any time you can see the number of terms you have mastered
  • A complete index with definition, pronunciation and part of speech for each word

Reviews & Accolades

  • I've tried other applications, but so far this is the only one that is fun and doesn’t bore me to death. It really is like a game, and helps you memorize words, since it makes sure you see a word repeatedly before moving on to another set of words. Even when you have mastered the word, you may see the word again as a synonym or antonym of another vocab word. Surprisingly, knowing the connotation of a word helped me remember what that word means. It's really nice to see all those green checkmarks, with some red x marks, and most of all those stars. After you master a certain number of words, they congratulate you with a picture. One of the pictures was a picture of a house with lines going through, implying "through the house!" I bought this app for five dollars and it was worth every penny, but now it costs a dollar so you should definitely buy it! It really is like a game. There are some easy words that you are bound to know/ think you know that you won't get discouraged or bombarded with hard words. But I've definitely learned new words that I've never even heard of before!

  • I’ve learned so many words already! Whoever decided to make these games instead of just flash cards is a genius! This is definitely the app I use most on my iPhone now. Thanks, Modality, for creating a fun, easy way for me to increase my SAT score :)

  • This app is so much easier than studying the old fashioned way. And on the go too, what more could you ask for?
